Small Stones – January 12

Saint or angel?

Raleigh highs have been in the 70s the past few days—25 degrees above normal for this time of year, and the air is damp. On the way home from dinner last night, I saw how wet the pavement was and, startled, asked my husband if it had rained while we were out or if it was just condensation.

Condensation. The bricks were weeping.

When I got in the house, I realized the extra moisture had given my normally smooth, sleek, and (let’s admit it) sometimes downright flat and staticky hair body and bend.

Humidity’s halo.
