Short stroll over lunch.
Between double spires, strings–
music from Heaven!

Thanks! I really like Uppsala. It has been years since I was there as a student, so I couldn’t tell you where exactly we lived, but it was kind of funny: a student dorm/apartment building next to an old folks’ home next to a cemetery. I wondered if it was commentary on the difficulty of the Swedish university system. 🙂

You could probably spend your life as a student there. 🙂

If you look between the spires, you can see the balcony the musicians were on. The haiku says strings, but it is entirely possible it was brass–might have been easier to play on a balcony!

I don’t see the strings between the spires, but if I strain my ears, I believe I can hear them humming!

Spires are always beautiful to imagine with music playing around them. (I once strolled The Shambles and the chimes drew me inside York Minster). Love this haiku!

Thank you! I often get drawn in by music, especially in churches with great acoustics. This was great to have it outside!

Thanks, Bruce. Had to go digging through boxes in the garage to find the photo. I think it’s from 1986!
